Nolan watches the proceedings with his blurry, unfocused eyes. The two of them almost never stay after, always opting to rush from place to place. His mind drifts to wondering if one of them is sick. They had been acting weird earlier, with their startling rule-breaking, so it wasn’t that far-fetched of a conclusion, was it?
Nolan shakes his head and immediately regrets it as a sharp stab runs through his head at the motion. His face scrunches up in pain, and Nolan turns to start moving towards the door when he stumbles. The hand not holding his laptop and notebook flies out, just barely catching the edge of a desk and stopping his one-way trip to a broken nose. He takes a deep breath while trying to steady himself.
Nolan cautiously straightens up, letting go of the desk. He closes his eyes for a moment, before opening them again and carefully stepping forward. At his lack of a painful fall, Nolan lets out a relieved sigh. He readjusts his grip on his laptop, and more forcefully this time, continues his walk towards the exit.
“Hey.” A voice stops him in his tracks. Nolan nearly falls again in his hasty twirl to find the source of his racing heart. Alexander’s friend Logan stands there, with the blond a few steps behind him, boring holes into his friend’s back with a harsh glare. “You okay, man?” Logan says, drawing Nolan’s focus back to the concerned brunette.
